And still more Christmas cards

Another 3. Lots of stamping and colouring with Spectrum Noir Alcohol markers.

This first card (two versions, one with the bottom punches with stars) is a nice background stamp.

Good ink and good paper is important to get good results. I love the Simply Smooth paper for this type of project and Ranger's Archival Ink.

This next card is a Hero Arts stamp coloured with the Spectrum Noir Markers, a little Stickles added to the berries and paired with Basic Grey Aspen Frost papers.

This third card is a combination of the two previous in that the Merry, Merry Merry is a Hero Arts large background stamp, another colour of Archival Ink and then one of my many snowmen stamps, this one by Whipper Snapper Designs coloured with the Spectrum Noir Alcohol Markers. Sorry the image is a little blurry, I should use a tripod when taking pics in low light or make a photo booth.

Awesome cards Brigit. My co-op student Kelly just made a light box for me yesterday. I haven't tried it out yet but when I do I'll send you a link to the tutorial.

Just in passing...

I don't know if there is a totally original idea or not. I know I spend a fair amount of time checking out magazines and galleries and other peoples artwork. Somehow it rolls around in my brain, often keeping me awake at night until I know just what I want to create and then I create it. I get inspired but then I do my own thing. Hopefully, that is what we all do. Please take whatever inspiration you like but if you scraplift, please give credit to the artist you take it from. If you want to know how I did something, ask. Glad to share.

Piece/Peace Movement

*** This is a May posting but I don't want it to get lost in the back pages so I am reposting it here. ***

I want to start a Piece/Peace Movement. Wait, don't go running down to the basement to see if you still have that pair of bell bottom pants or that string of beads you (or your parents) wore back in the 60's unless of course you are going to use it as artist material. I don't want to stage "Love Ins" unless scrapbooking or crafting is involved. No artificial mood enhancers required. What I do want to do is share a little piece/peace with others through a piece of art that I and hopefully you create. Here is what I have in mind. Create a piece of art. It could be a scrapbook page, a card, an altered object that you have put a little piece/peace of yourself into. Think about what Peace means to you and how you achieve it in your life. Create a piece of art. Not a paper artist? Doesn't matter. Use whatever medium you want and then post it so others can share your peace/piece. The idea is to spread peace around. Do something that makes you feel good and share it with others. The key here is to share your peace/piece with as many people as possible.You never know, maybe this whole Peace thing will catch on.
